Polydipsia:-

  • It is an increase in thirst, in clients with diabetes, polydipsia is mainly caused by increased blood glucose levels. Because when blood glucose levels get high, in response kidneys produce more urine in an effort to remove the extra glucose from the body. Because of this action body looses more fluid, and to replace that person is having an intense feeling of thirst.

Polyuria:-

  • Frequent urination, is the term that is used when a person is passing more urine than normal. Most people produce about 1–2 liters of urine per day but the People with polyuria produce more than 3 liters of urine in a day.

    Reasons for polyuria are when blood glucose levels are too high in the body, the body will try to remove some of the excess glucose via urination. This process also leads the kidney to filter out more water, which leads to an increased need to urinate.

Polyphagia:-

  • An increase in appetite, In people with diabetes, glucose do not enter inside the cells to be used for energy. This can be due to either low insulin levels or insulin resistance. Because in diabetes body fails to convert glucose to energy, so person will feel hungry. The hunger associated with polyphagia doesn’t go away even after consuming food.
