Option 4 : Solving \(\frac{1}{{2}}+\frac{1}{{3}}\)
Learning outcomes are statements that explain the knowledge or skills that students should have at the end of a unit or course and that help students understand why that knowledge and abilities will be helpful to them.
Learning outcomes for grade 3 learners in mathematics-
- The learner should be able to read and write numbers up to 999 using place value and solve simple daily life problems using addition and subtraction of 3 digit numbers with or without regrouping.
- The children should be able to analyze and apply an appropriate number operation in any situation.
- The children should be able to construct and use multiplication (what will be the cost of 3 chocolates if the cost of one chocolate is ₹5) in daily life situations.
- The learner should be able to identify, make, and describe 2D shapes by the number of sides, corners, and diagonals and fill a given region leaving no gaps using a tile of a given shape.
- The learner should be able to estimate and measure the length (measuring the string of a kite using hand span) and distances using standard units and compare the capacity of different containers in terms of non-standard units.
- The learner should be able to record the time using a clock or watch and identify a particular day and date on a calendar.
Hence, we conclude that option 4 will not be the learning outcome in mathematics amongst grade 3 learners because fractions have not been introduced in grade 3 and it will be difficult for students.
