Option 3 : 4 km/hr

Speed of boat x = 20 km/hr

Let the speed of the stream be ‘y’ km/hr.

Distance covered during downstream in 2 hours,

⇒ Distance, D = (20 + y) × 2 ---- 1

Same distance is covered during upstream in 3 hours,

⇒ Distance, D = (20 – y) × 3 ---- 2

⇒ (20 + y) × 2 = (20 – y) × 3

⇒ y = 4 km/hr
