Suppose the speed of boat is ‘a’ km/hr and speed of stream is ‘b’ km/hr;

Statement I:

360/(a + b) + 420/(a - b) = 54      ----(1)

Statement II:

510/(a + b) = 17      ----(2)

Statement III:

3D/(a + b) = D/(a - b)

⇒ 3a - 3b = a + b

⇒ a = 2b      ----(3)

Using any two of these three equations, we can get the value of ‘a’ and ‘b’.
