The number of boys and girls in a class is in the ratio 5 ∶ 3. 20% of the boys denied going for a picnic while 30 girls are ready to go for the picnic. If total 94 students are ready to go for the picnic, then what is the total number of girls in the class? Correct Answer 48

GIVEN:

Number of boys in a class = 5x

Number of girls in a class =  3x

Number of students ready to go for a picnic = 94

CALCULATION:

Number of boys going to the picnic = 0.8 × 5x = 4x

According to question,

94 = 30 + 4x

4x = 64

x = 16

∴ Total number of gils in the class = 3x = 48
