Besides he manages to avoid to pay 20% tax on the already discounted price, what is the amount of discount that he has gotten? Correct Answer Rs.1220

EXPLANATION & CALCULATIONS :

⇒ C.P. = 100

⇒ S.P. (with tax) = 120

⇒ New S.P. = 100 - 10 = 90

⇒ Effective discount = 120 - 90 = 30   ––––(∵ Avoid 20% tax and Get 10% Discount)

So,

⇒ at S.P. of 90, discount = 30

 So,

⇒ at S.P. of 3660 , discount = 30 ÷ 90 × 3660

⇒ 1220

∴ The amount of discount that sumit has gotten is Rs. 1220.
