Given:

Sum of age of Renu, Minu and Sonu = 5 × Age of Sonu

Age of Renu = Age of Minu

3 years ago, Renu's age was thrice the age of Sonu

Calculation:

Let the age of Renu, Minu and Sonu be x, y and z

x = y (as given in question)

x + y + z = 5 × z      ----(i)

And, (x – 3) = 3 × (z – 3)

⇒ x – 3 = 3z – 9

⇒ x = 3z – 6      ----(ii)

According to the question,

Putting the value of equation (ii) in equation (i)

⇒ 3z – 6 + 3z – 6 + z = 5z

⇒ 7z – 5z = 12

⇒ 2z = 12

⇒ z = 6

Age of sonu after 4 years = 6 + 4

⇒ 10 years

∴ The age of Sonu after 4 years is 10 years
