Calculation:

8 years ago, let Anandi’s age = 4a years then Bindiya’s age = 5a years

At present, Bindiya’s age

⇒ 5a + 8 years = 4x

⇒ x = (5a + 8)/4

∴ Chirag’s age = 5x

⇒ 5

⇒ (25a + 40)/4

According to the question:

⇒ (25a + 40)/4 – 4a + 8 = 20

⇒ 25a + 40 – 16a – 32 = 80

⇒ 9a + 8 = 80

⇒ 9a = 72

⇒ a = 8

At present Anandi’s, age = 4a + 8 = 40 years

Bindiya’s age = 5a + 8 = 48 years

Chirag’s age = 5/4 × 48

⇒ 60 years

∴ Required Sum = 40 + 48 + 60

⇒ 148 years
