Car A leads Car B by 50 meters. After three seconds the Car B is leading Car B by 30 meters. The speed of Car B is 20% more than Car A. What will be the distance travelled by Car B in those three seconds?
Car A leads Car B by 50 meters. After three seconds the Car B is leading Car B by 30 meters. The speed of Car B is 20% more than Car A. What will be the distance travelled by Car B in those three seconds? Correct Answer 480
Calculation:
VB/VA = 1.2
In three seconds Car A travelled x distance and Car B travelled x + 50 + 30.
Time is same,
⇒ (x + 80)/x = 1.2
⇒ x = 400m
∴ Car B travelled 480m.
Important Points
If the time is the same, distance is proportional to speed.
If A is x% more than B, A = (1 + (x/100)) × B
