We can see that EX = OA = 8 + 2 = 10 Km, XO = 4 Km

Hence distance between starting and ending point is = (OX2+XE2)1/2

(102+42)1/2= (100+16)1/2= (116)1/2 = 10.77 = 11 Km

Hence distance between starting and ending point is 11 km.
