Study the given information carefully and answer the question given below: Shikhar walked 18 km towards east, took right turn and walked 20 km. He then took a left turn and walked 25 km. Then, he took a left turn walked 20 km. Then, he took a right turn and walked 10 km. then, he took a left turn and walked 24  km. Finally he took a left turn and walked 35 km. How far was he from the starting point? Correct Answer 30 km

The diagram of distance covered by Shikhar is as follow-

[ alt="F2 Pooja Ravi 22.12.21 D1" src="//storage.googleapis.com/tb-img/production/21/12/F2_Pooja_Ravi_22.12.21_D1.png" style="width: 540px; height: 422px;">

The distance from starting point is OG and in right angle triangle OAG-

OA = 18, AG = 24

By the Pythagorean theorem-

OG2 = OA2 + AG2

OG2 = 182 + 242

OG2 = 324 + 576 = 900

OG = 30 km.

Here, the distance from starting point is 30 km.

Hence, Option (4) is the answer.
