Given:
Five bulls complete one round in 100 sec, 200 sec, 300 sec, 400 sec and 500 sec respectively,
Concept:
The least number which is exactly divisible by each of the given numbers is called the least common multiple of those numbers.
Calculation:
100 = 2 × 2 × 5 × 5
200 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 5 × 5
300 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 5 × 5
400 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 5 × 5
500 = 2 × 2 × 5 × 5 × 5
⇒ LCM of 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 5 × 5 × 5 = 6000 seconds
6000 seconds = 100 min = 1 hr 40 min
∴ They meet first time at starting point after 1 hr 40 min.
