Time taken by Subhas and Rishi = 6 days
Formula Used-
Total Work = Efficiency of worker × Time
Concept Used-
Area of a quadrant of a circle = 1/4 × Area of Circle
Calculation-
Let time taken by Subhas alone = x
∴ In one day Subhas can clean 1/x part of ground.
Time taken by Rishi to clean one quadrant of the ground = 6 days
∴ Time taken by Rishi to clean the complete ground = 6 × 4
⇒ 24 days
∴ In one day Rishi can clean 1/24 part of ground.
Again, Time taken by Subhas and Rishi = 6 days
∴ In one day Rishi and Subhas can clean 1/6 part of ground.
According to question-
1/6 = 1/x + 1/24
⇒ 1/6 = (24 + x)/24x
⇒ 4x = 24 + x
⇒ x = 8
∴ Subhas can clean the playground alone in 8 days.
