Let the age of Ram at present be ‘x’

⇒ Age of Ram two years ago = x – 2

⇒ Age of Ram’s wife at present + 4 = x – 2

⇒ Age of Ram’s wife at present = x – 6

⇒ Number of years after which Ram’s wife will be 50 = 50 – Present age

= 50 – x + 6 = 56 – x

⇒ Present age of Ram’s child + Number of years after which Ram’s wife will be 50 = Present age of Ram

⇒ Present age of Ram’s child + 56 – x = x

⇒ Present age of Ram’s child = 2x – 56

⇒ Sum of their ages = x + x – 6 + 2x – 56 = 4x – 62 = 66

∴ x = 32
