Let the number of players be ‘x’.

Average age of x players = 24 years

⇒ Total age of x players = 24x years

Also, including the age of trainer,

Average age of (x + 1) people = 24 + 1 = 25 years

⇒ Total age of (x + 1) people = 25(x + 1) years

∵ Age of trainer = 36 years

⇒ 24x + 36 = 25x + 25

⇒ 25x – 24x = 36 – 25

⇒ x = 11

∴ No. of players in team = 11
