A shopkeeper bought 10 pieces of a type of refrigerator, each at Rs.27,000. He sold 5 pieces at 20%, 3 at 10%, and rest at 5% more than the price he bought them at. What was the net profit (in Rs) for the shopkeeper on the whole transaction? Correct Answer 37,800
Cost price of each refrigerator = Rs. 27000
Selling price of the 5 refrigerators sold at 20% profit = 5 × 27000 × 1.2 = Rs. 162000
Selling price of the 3 refrigerators sold at 10% profit = 3 × 27000 × 1.1 = Rs. 89100
Selling price of the 2 refrigerators sold at 5 % profit = 2 × 27000 × 1.05 = Rs. 56700
Total selling price = Rs. 307800
Total cost price = 10 × 27000 = Rs. 270000
Profit = Rs. 307800 - Rs. 270000 = Rs. 37800
Hence, the net profit is Rs. 37800.
