A person buys three bicycles at the rate of Rs. 4000 per bicycle. He sells first bicycle at a profit of 30 percent, sells second bicycle at a loss of 20 percent and sells third bicycle at a loss of 10 percent. What is the total profit percent in the whole transaction ? Correct Answer 0 percent

Given

Cost price of Bicycle = Rs. 4000

Formula Used

Loss = Cost price/100 × loss%

Profit = Cost price/100 × profit%

Calculation

Profit on first cycle = 4000/100 × 30 = Rs.1200

Loss on 2nd cycle = 4000/1000 × 20 = Rs. 800

Loss on 3rd cycle = 4000/100 × 10 = Rs. 400

Total profit on transaction = Rs. 1200 - 1200 = 0

∴ Profit transaction is 0%
