GIVEN :
The price of 50 books is 75% of the price of 120 notebooks.
The price of a pen is Rs.20.
The price of a pen is 40% of price of a notebook. If 10 same pens are added into the box.
ASSUMPTION :
Let price of a book and a notebook be Rs. a and Rs. b respectively.
CALCULATION :
Price of notebook = 20 × 100/40 = 50
Price of 120 notebooks = 50 × 120
Given,
Price of 50 books = (50 × 120) × 75/100 = 4500
Price of a book = 4500/50 = 90
∴ Required Difference = 90 – 50 = Rs. 40
