Let number of sketch pens, ball pens, pencils and ink-pens be a, b, c and d respectively.

Given,

Number of sketch pens = a = b + b × 20/100 = 6b/5

Number of pencils = c = d – d × 25/100 = 3d/4

Given,

⇒ d – a = 20

⇒ 4c/3 – 6b/5 = 20

⇒ 4b/3 – 6b/5 = 20

⇒ 20b – 18b = 300

⇒ b = 150

Number of sketch pens = (6/5) × 150 = 180

Number of pencils = 150

Number of ink-pens = 180 + 20 = 200

Total number of all four items in a box = 150 + 180 + 150 + 200 = 680

∴ Required percentage = (180/680) × 100

⇒ 26.47%
