Number of males who are illiterate = 40%

Number of females who are literate = 40%

Calculation:

The number of voters are males = 55%

Number of voters who are females = (100 – 55)% = 45%

Number of males who are illiterate = (55 × 40/100)

⇒ 22

Number of males who are literate = (55 – 22) = 33

Now,

Number of females who are literate = (45 × 40/100)

⇒ 18

Number of females who are illiterate = (45 – 18) = 27

The percentage is the number of illiterate females more than that of the illiterate males =

⇒ (5/22 × 100)

⇒ 500/22
