The following question has three statements. Study the question and the statements and decide which of the statement(s) is necessary to answer the question. What is Ankit’s current monthly salary? I) On receiving an increment of 8%, his monthly salary will be Rs. 70200. II) On receiving an increment of 12%, his yearly salary will be Rs. 873600. III) Before receiving an increment of 30% last year, his monthly salary was Rs. 50000. Correct Answer Any one
Considering statement I,
Incremented salary = (100 + 8)% of (current salary)
⇒ 70200 = 1.08 × (Current salary)
⇒ Current salary = 70200/1.08 = Rs. 65000
Considering statement II,
Incremented salary = (100 + 12)% of (current salary)
⇒ 873600 = 1.12 × 12 × (Current salary)
⇒ Current salary = 873600/13.44 = Rs. 65000
Considering statement III,
Current salary = (100 + 30)% of (last year salary) = 1.3 × 50000 = Rs. 65000
∴ The question can be answered using any one of the given statements
