First, check the spelling of the headline and the email address to make sure it's accurate. If you get an email from Chase Bank, for example, the email address should be "@chase.gov" or "@chase.org" or something. If it doesn't look like they sent it, it's probably a scam. Also, scan the spelling. A scammer may say they're from Amazon, but then it's spelled "Amason" on the headline, which is a big sign that it's not legitimate.
