I stopped taking Excedrin cold turkey on 4/6/16 after taking 3-4 tablets a day for the past 5 years. I was taking it so I would not take so many Imitrex. I am now taking Nortriptylin 10mg at Hs but I have a headache everyday. Ibuprofen does not help. What else can be ordered for the headaches?

There are a number of different classes of medication that can be tried for preventive treatment of headaches such as what you are taking, tricyclic antidepressants, verapamil or a beta blocker, which are blood pressure medications, or topiramate, which is a seizure medication. Continue to work with your doctor on dose adjustment and different medications until you find what works best for you.
