  • Quo-Warranto writ is issued to a government servant to prevent such action, which is not his right to do. Quo Warranto means “by what warrant”.
  • It is issued to inquire into the legality of the claim of a person or public office.
  • It contains the authority to act in an office which is not entitled to stops the violation of public office by anyone.
  • It is only applicable to public offices and not in private one.
