Option 1 : 3 km/hr
Let the speed at which the boy is riding his bicycle be ‘x’ km/hr.
∵ The train is coming towards the boy, it means that the train and the boy are moving in opposite directions
As we know, when two bodies are moving in opposite directions, their relative speed is the sum of their individual speeds
⇒ Relative speed = (x + 60) km/hr. = (x + 60) × 5/18 m/sec.
Now,
Time taken by train to cross the boy = Length of train/Relative speed
⇒ 14 = 245/
⇒ x = 3
∴ The boy is riding his bicycle at a speed of 3 km/hr.
