Option 2 : Quantity A < Quantity B

Quantity A:

New man’s weight = Replaced man’s weight + Total no. of men × increment

⇒ New man’s weight = 50 + 24 × 1.5 = 50 + 36 = 86 kg

Quantity B:

Sum of weight of teacher and students = New avg. × (No. of students + teacher) - Existing avg. × No. of students = 47 × 41 – 46 × 40 = 1927 – 1840 = 87 kg

∴ Quantity A < Quantity B
