I need distinction between "media file" and "clip". I expect several clips from each file to be listed in a clip bin, not a media bin. And to be selectable there for adding to timeline.

A clip is a section of video or audio from a film or audio track whereas a media file is an overall description of any item that comes under the category of being a media file.
