Can I cut the shapes the night before and if so, can I just stack them on top of each other in some Tupperware? I need to take 28 pieces to school tomorrow for my son and not sure how to transport.

Yes. Place something in between each layer so that they do not stick together. Plastic wrap, parchment paper, wax paper, etc. should work.
