Option 1 : 24 km/h

Given:

Pranav went to the bank at the speed of = 60 km/hr

While returning he covers half of the distance with the speed of = 10 km/hr

Remaining distance cover with the speed of = 30 km/hr

Concept/Formula:

Average speed = Total distance/Total time

If in these types of questions, the distance is the same then we ignore the value of the distance.

Average Speed = (2 × S1 × S2)/(S1 + S2)

Where, S1 is the speed of Car from A to B and S2 is the speed of Car from B to A

Calculation:

Let the distance be 60 km.

⇒ Time taken by Pranav from home to bank = 60/60 = 1 hour

⇒ Time taken by Pranav to cover half distance between bank and home = 30/30 = 1 hour

⇒ Time taken by Pranav to cover half distance between bank and home = 30/10 = 3 hours

∴ Average Speed = (60 + 30 + 30) / (1 + 1 + 3) = 120/5 = 24 km/hr
