The ratio of present ages of A, B, C, and D 6 : 8 : 11 : 15 sum of their ages four years before was 64 years then what is the difference of present ages of the sum of B and D to the present ages of C and A.  Correct Answer 4

The ratio of present ages of A, B, C, and D =  6 : 8 : 11 : 15

Sum of their ages = 6x + 8x + 11x + 15x

⇒  40x

Before 4 years sum of their ages = 64

40x - 16 = 64

⇒ 40x = 80 ⇒ x = 2

Sum of ages of B and D = 19x ⇒ 19 × 2 = 38

Sum o the ages of C and A = 17x  ⇒ 17 × 2 = 34

∴ The difference  of present ages of the sum of B and D to the present ages of C and A = 38 - 34

⇒ 4 years

∴ The difference in ages is 4 years
