Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

 Calculation

Area of rectangular playground = 12 × 11

⇒ 132 cm2

Area of 1 walking strip along the breadth = 11 × 2

⇒ 22 cm

Area of 2 walking strips along the breadth = 2(22)

⇒ 44 cm

Area of the ground without walking strip = 132 - 44

⇒ 88 cm2
