The distance between Delhi and Dehradun is 260 km. Ravi started his journey from Delhi to Dehradun at 10 am at the speed of 65 km/hour and Binder started his journey at 1 pm from Dehradun to Delhi at a speed of 65 km/hour. At what time both meet each other?

Given

Total distance travelled = 260 km

Formula used

Distance = Speed × Time

Calculation

Hours between 10 am to 1 pm = 3 hours

Distance covered by Ravi between 10 am to 1 pm = 65 × 3 = 195 km

Remaining distance = 260 – 195 = 65 km

Relative speed = 65 km/hour + 65 km/hour = 130 km/hour

Now, they cover 65 km in hours = 65 km/130 km/hour = 1/2 hour

⇒  30 minutes

So, they will meet 30 minutes after 1 pm.

∴ They will meet each other at 1:30 pm.
