Correct Answer Rs. 67,500
Solution -
Let the salary of Ram be 10a and salary of Ravi be 10b.
⇒ investment by Ram = 7a
⇒ investment by Ravi = (3a + 8b)
⇒ {7a/(3a + 8b)} = 5/4 ....................(1)
⇒ 28a = 15a + 40b
⇒ (a/b) = (40/13)
⇒ Ravi returns Rs. 30,000 to Ram
⇒ 3a = 30,000
⇒ a = 10,000
⇒ investment by Ram = 7a = Rs. 70,000
⇒ Salary of Ram = 10a = Rs. 1,00,000
⇒From equation (1)
⇒ Investment by Ravi = 70,000 × (4/5)
⇒ (3a + 8b) = 56,000
⇒ 8b = 56,000 - 30,000
⇒ b = 3250
⇒ salary of Ravi = 10b = Rs. 32,500
⇒ Difference = Rs. (1,00,000 - 32,500) = Rs. 67,500
∴ difference between salaries between Ram and Ravi = Rs. 67,500
