Given:

A and B contains spirit and water in the ratio of 3 : 5 and 5 : 7 respectively

They were further mixed in the ratio 3 : 2

Calculation:

Spirit : Water in A = 3 : 5 = 9 : 15

Spirit : Water in B = 5 : 7 = 10 : 14, we made total of both the vessels equal

Let 72 units of A and 48 units of B mixed together(as total of both quantities are factors of 24) 

Spirit in final mixture from A and B respectively = (9/24) × 72 + (10/24) × 48 = 27 + 20 = 47

Water in final mixture from A and B respectively = (15/24) × 72 + (14/24) × 48 = 45 + 28 = 73

∴ Spirit : Water = 47 : 73
