Given:

A and B contains spirit and water in the ratio of 3 : 8 and 6 : 5 respectively

They were further mixed in the ratio 1 : 2 

Calculation:

Spirit : water in A = 3 : 8

Spirit : water in B = 6 : 5 

Let 11 units of A and 22 units of B mixed together(as total of both quantities are factors of 11) 

Spirit in final mixture from A and B respectively = (3/11) × 11 + (6/11) × 22 = 3 + 12 = 15

Water in final mixture from A and B respectively = (8/11) × 11 + (5/11) × 22 = 8 + 10 = 18

∴ Water : spirit = 18/15 = 6 : 5
