A and B undertake a piece of work for Rs. 4500. A alone can do it in 10 days and B alone can do it in 30 days. With the help of C, they finish it in 5 days. How much Cs would be paid for the work? Correct Answer Rs. 1500

A can do a piece of work in 10 days

∴ A’s 1 day’s work will be 1/10

B can do a piece of work in 30 days

∴ B’s 1 day’s work will be 1/30

(A + B + C) can do the work in = 5 days

∴ (A + B + C)’s 1 day’s work = 1/5

∴ C’s 1 day’s work = 1/5 – (1/10 + 1/30) = 1/15

∴ Ratio of work done by A, B and C = 1/10 ∶ 1/30 ∶ 1/15 = 3 ∶ 1 ∶ 2

∴ C would be paid = Rs. 4500 × 2/6 = Rs. 1500
