A can finish the work in 9 days, B can finish the same work in 15 days, with the help of C they together can finish the work in 5 days. Find in how many days can C finish the work alone? Correct Answer 45

Given:

Time taken by A to complete the work = 9 days

Time taken by B to complete the work = 15 days

Time taken by A + B + C to complete the work = 5 days

Calculation:

(A)’s day’s work = 1/9

(B)’s day’s work = 1/15

(A + B + C)’s day’s work = 1/5

∵ C’s 1 day’s work = (A + B + C)’s 1 day’s work - (A)’s day’s work - (B)’s day’s work

= (1/5) – (1/9) – (1/15)

= (9 – 5 – 3)/45

= 1/45

∴ Time taken by C to finish the work = 45 days.
