GIVEN:
Seema and Rekha went to shopping with equal amount of money.
Seema bought a shoe for Rs. 95
Rekha spent Rs. 350 on dress
Rekha had 4/7 of what Seema had left
CONCEPT:
Here we need to form a linear equation and find the amount of money the girls had in the beginning.
CALCULATION:
Let the amount of money Seema and Rekha had be x
⇒ Amount left with Seema = x – 95
⇒ Amount left with Rekha = x – 350
According to the question,
x – 350 = 4 (x – 95) / 7
⇒ 7x – 2450 = 4x – 380
⇒ x = 690
∴ Amount left with Seema = 690 – 95 = Rs. 595
