The given graph shows the number (in thousands) of male and female unemployed youth in six cities (A, B, C, D, E and F). What is the ratio of the total number of unemployed females to the unemployed males across all the cities? Correct Answer 1 : 1

Calculation:

Total number of unemployed females across the 6 cities = (50 + 60 + 70 + 50 + 30 + 80) = 340 (in thousands)

Total number of unemployed males across the 6 cities = (50 + 60 + 50 + 40 + 60 + 80) = 340 (in thousands)

∴ The required ratio = 340 : 340

⇒ 1 : 1
