If the water-level in the shell falls below a certain level, the fusible plug melts due to overheating and water pours down through the hole formed and puts down the fire.

Blow-off cock: it is mounted on the bottom side of the boiler. The main function of the Blow-off cock is to remove the sediments and the impurities from the boiler.
