A purchased an item and sold it to B at 15% profit who sold it to C at 10% profit. C then sold the item to D at Rs. 683.1 after 25% loss. What is the amount of loss incurred by A when D purchased the item at the same price from A? Correct Answer Rs.36.9
Let the price at which A purchased the item be 100x.
CP of item for B = 115% of 100x = 115x
CP of item for C = 110% of 115x = 126.5x
CP of item for D = 75% of 126.5x = 94.875x = 683.1
x = 7.2
Now,
CP for A = 100x = Rs. 720
SP for A = CP of D = Rs. 683.1
Loss amount = 720 – 683.1 = Rs. 36.9
