25 persons participated in a survey. The mean of the age of first 8 persons is 15 years. The mean of the age of next 7 persons is 31 years. The remaining persons have mean of the age of 43 years. What is the mean age of all the persons who participated in the survey? Correct Answer 30.68
Given:
Number of persons = 25
Mean age of first 8 persons = 15 years
Mean age of next 7 persons = 31 years
Mean age of remaining persons = 43 years
Formula used:
Mean age = Sum of age of all the persons/Number of persons
Calculations:
Let the mean age of all the persons be M
⇒ M = /25
⇒ M = (120 + 217 + 430)/25
⇒ M = 767/25
⇒ M = 30.68
∴ The mean age of all the persons is 30.68 years
