Nine years later, the age of B will be equal to the present age of A. Sum of A's age 3 years later and B's age 4 years ago will be 76. If the age of C is half of the present age of B, then what will be C's age (in years) after 10 years?
Nine years later, the age of B will be equal to the present age of A. Sum of A's age 3 years later and B's age 4 years ago will be 76. If the age of C is half of the present age of B, then what will be C's age (in years) after 10 years? Correct Answer 27
Let the present age of A be ‘x’
Thus, nine years later B’ s age = x
Therefore, present age of B = (x - 9)
According to question,
Sum of A's age 3 years later and B's age 4 years ago is 76
⇒ (x + 3) + {(x - 9) - 4} = 76
⇒ × = 43
Thus, A’ s present age = 43
B’ s present age = 43 - 9 = 34
Given,
The age of C is half of the present age of B ⇒ C’ s present age = 17
Therefore, C’ s age after 10 years = 17 + 10 = 27.
