If the weight of bag A is 80% of the weight of bag B, while the weight of bag B is 120% of the weight of bag C, then the weight of bag A is what percentage of the weight of bag C?

If the weight of bag A is 80% of the weight of bag B, while the weight of bag B is 120% of the weight of bag C, then the weight of bag A is what percentage of the weight of bag C? Correct Answer 96%

Weight of bag A = 80% of the weight of bag B

⇒ Weight of bag A = 0.8 × Weight of bag B      ----(1)

Similarly,

Weight of bag B = 120% of the weight of bag C

⇒ Weight of bag B = 1.2 × Weight of bag C      ----(2)

Substituting equation (2) in equation (1), we get,

⇒ Weight of bag A = 0.8 × 1.2 × Weight of bag C

⇒ Weight of bag A = 0.96 × Weight of bag C

∴ Weight of bag A is 96% of the weight of bag C.
