There are three types of bags. Bag A is filled with 3990 apples which are 57% of the total volume of the bag A, bag B is filled with 3710 oranges which are 53% of the volume of bag B and bag C is filled with 3280 papaya which is 41% of the volume of bag C. Find the total number of fruits which is filled in the blank space of the three bags.
Correct Answer 11020
Given∶ Number of apples in bag A = 3990
Number of apples in bag B = 3710
Number of apples in bag C = 3280
Percentage of the volume of Bag A filled with apples = 57%
Percentage of the volume of Bag B filled with apples = 53%
Percentage of the volume of Bag C filled with apples = 41%
Calculation∶
Percentage of volume of blank space of bag A = 100 – 57 = 43%
⇒ Number of apples that can be filled in blank space = 3990/57 × 43 = 3010
Percentage of volume of blank space of bag A = 100 – 53 = 47%
⇒ Number of apples that can be filled in blank space = 3710/53 × 47 = 3290
Percentage of volume of blank space of bag C = 100 – 41 = 59%
⇒ Number of apples that can be filled in blank space = 3280/41 × 59 = 4720
∴ Total number of fruits which is filled in the blank space of the three bags = 3010 + 3290 + 4720 = 11020
