A food production company is producing wheat and mixing 20 kg of wheat powder in 1000 kg. the cost price of 1 kg powder is Rs. 10 and the cost price of the 1kg wheat is Rs. 30. Then what is the total earning of the company by the selling of 2000 kg wheat? Correct Answer Rs. 800

The total quantity of wheat = 1000 kg

Quantity of the wheat powder = 20 kg

The cost price of the 1 kg wheat = Rs. 30

So, the cost price of the 1000 kg wheat = 30 × 1000 = Rs. 30000

But here 20 kg of the wheat powder is mixed, which have the price = 20 × 10 = Rs. 200

He is gaining by the dishonesty = 30 × 20 – 200 = 600 – 200 = Rs. 400

He is gaining Rs. 400 after every 1000 kg

So, his gain after the selling of 1 kg wheat = 400/1000 = Rs. 0.4

Hence, the earnings of the production company = 2000 × 0.4 = Rs. 800
