ইমাম আবুদাউদ তার সুনান গ্রন্থে যে হাদীসের উপর নিরব থেকেছেন তার হুকুমের ব্যাপারে মুহাদ্দীসিনে কেরাম থেকে কয়েকটি মত পাওয়া যায়। এর মধ্যে সবচেয়ে প্রসিদ্ধ মতটি হচ্ছে- এ ধরনের হাদীস 'ছালিহ-উল আ'মাল'। অর্থাৎ আমলের যোগ্য।
