Cooking Rice in Your Rice Cooker
You’ll have perfectly cooked, fluffy rice every time when you use a rice cooker. Here’s how:
- Measure out the rice. Generally, you’ll want to use 1-1/2 cups of rice for every 1 cup of water. For larger batches, use 1-3/4 cups of rice for every cup of water.
- Rinse the rice. Place the rice in a sieve and rinse under cold water to remove any dust or other contaminants. Make sure to rinse the rice until the water runs clear.
- Place the rice into the cooker. Place your measured and rinsed rice into the cooking chamber of the rice cooker.
- Pour the right amount of water. Measure out the appropriate amount of cold water and pour it into the cooking chamber.
- Set the timer. Secure the lid of your cooker and choose your desired timer setting.
- Start the cooker. Flip the switch and let the cooker begin cooking your rice.
- Allow the cooker to finish its cycle. Listen for the switch to click when the cooker signals that it’s done.
- Fluff the cooked rice. When the cooker is finished, use a spoon or spatula to fluff and separate the now-cooked rice.
- Enjoy your cooked rice. Serve your delicious rice with your favorite dish, enjoy, and savor the perfect meal.
