How to Cook White Rice Without a Rice Cooker
Cooking white rice without a rice cooker doesn’t have to be difficult or time consuming. With just a few easy steps, you can have fluffy, flavorful rice ready to serve in no time.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of white rice
- 2 cups of water
- Salt and butter (optional)
Instructions:
- In a pot, combine the rice, water, salt and butter (if desired) and stir.
- Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat until the water is just barely simmering.
- Cover the pot and let the rice simmer for 15 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let the rice stand (covered) for 5 minutes.
- Remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork. Serve it warm.
