Prepare yourself ahead of time and try to get a feeling about what the community theater and/or director is all about before you go in. Knowing the material, knowing the theater, knowing what type of part you want, and reading the casting information are all important parts of being prepared. When you go to audition, keep in mind that they'll ask you to come in and have two different monologues prepared—working with a coach can help you get ready.
